Porthcothan is one of the quieter beaches between Padstow and Newquay. It lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)

Porthcothan is great for sunbathing, surfing and rockpooling at low tide – with lifeguard patrolling during Summer season. You can also enjoy a number of stunning clifftop walks from Porthcothan, as the beach is situated along the superb South West Coast Path. There is a sweet cafe next to the beach, plus surfboard hire is available.

Is Porthcothan dog friendly?

At time of writing, Mawgan Porth is dog friendly all year round.
